Katie's 80s

I happen to think this is one of the greatest 80s pictures ever taken, capturing the essence of the 80s: ugly jumpsuits, half-hearted smiles, and heinous hair. Not to toot my own horn, but I used to be obsessed with the 80s and created a function in the decade's honor, called "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." Whenever girls think of the 80s, they think side ponytails. But just to authenticate my outfit for the function, I checked numerous Pi Phi composite pictures from the glorious decade, discovering that most girls had wings, not side ponys. I love to do things as a joke and act serious about it because, let's be honest: delivery is everything. This picture happens to be my facebook picture, and a couple of weeks ago, a guy from my high school sent me a message, I'm pretty sure to make fun of me. (Background: in middle school a couple of times, "popular" guys sent someone to ask me out for them as some sort of sick joke. I've recovered, thankfully, after many years of therapy.) My mom also told me to change it because it was ugly. But I think everyone who looks good in their facebook picture gets messages from sick freaks who want to meet girls online. So anyway, I guess they didn't get the joke. Every time I see this picture, I think I laugh out loud. I just love it.

I think I am obsessed with Wilco. I may just have to buy both of the newest albums.
