May contain peanuts

I have been exploring Ryan Adams' Rock N Roll for the first time today. I like it a lot, and I appreciate his versatility as an artist. I had noticed on iTunes, however, that there are two versions for purchase, "Explicit" and "Clean." When I see there are explicit lyrics, I assume the songs will be riddled with profanity, like in rap. I previously had three songs from this CD supplied to me from my friend Meghan Shack: "This Is It," "So Alive," and "Anybody Wanna Take Me Home." They were all clean. I bummed the CD from another friend to get the entire version, and I assumed it was the clean version. I was listening along when I came to the fourth track on the CD, containing profound, heartfelt lyrics, such as:
It's all a bunch of s***
And there's nothing to do around here
It's totally f***** up
I'm totally f***** up
Wish you were here
Come on, Ryan. Couldn't you do better than that? He did croon the word "s***" better than anyone I've ever heard, though. Anyway, this was ovbviously the explicit version of the CD. I came to the conclusion that the label "Explicit" in this case is sort of like when a plain Hershey bar says "May contain peanuts," the same as a Reese's. Some songs have no cursing, some are full of it, but they all get the same label. Deep thoughts from Katie.

If you like Adams check out his new one, Cold Roses, easily his best. (2nd being Heartbreaker and 3rd being Love is Hell.)
Found your blog by hitting the "Next Blog" at the top of the pages. Yours just randomly appeared next and when I saw a fellow Adams fan, I was naturally inclined share my music geekery ;)
